Time management in digital marketing. We’ll tell you a few non-obvious things.

Here’s a great quote from Bill Gates: “If your business is not on the internet, then your business will be out of business.” The importance of quality digital marketing for brands cannot be overstated. It affects sales, reputation, and sometimes even the entire business. However, success in this field depends not only on the quality of advertising campaigns and the content you publish but also on effective time management.

However, time management in Ukraine today presents a challenge. Power outages, a large number of remote workers operating on unclear schedules, and unexpected disruptions are just a fraction of the difficulties we face. Effective time management will become a strong foundation for all work processes.

So, here are a few ways to effectively manage time in digital marketing.

  • Clearly allocate time for each task. Also, don’t try to completely eliminate delays; it’s still not possible (air alarms, power outages are beyond our control). It’s better to account for them. As a result, you’ll complete the client’s work earlier, and you won’t have to apologize for delays.
  • Use the 90-minute method: it involves working for 90 minutes without a break, followed by a 20-30 minute break to rest and recharge. Then the cycle repeats.
  • A similar method is the Pomodoro technique, which involves working for 25 minutes and then taking a short 5-minute break. After four work intervals like this, take a longer break of 15-30 minutes.
  • Automate and optimize processes. For example, using social media scheduling software allows you to timely post content on social networks, reducing the time spent on manual planning and posting. And using chatbots like GPT speeds up text processing and idea generation.
  • Analytics. It’s important to understand where your work time is going and how long each task takes. But don’t get too caught up in it, as there’s a risk of spending too much time on it.
  • Chat platforms for communication with clients and colleagues. Everything is good in moderation. They can help with work (quick information exchange and history preservation) but also become a hindrance—having too many chats and email conversations makes the information unstructured and easily lost.
  • For better concentration, it’s also beneficial to use the “Deep Work” method. This method involves focusing on deep and productive work for an extended period without distractions from other tasks. It helps concentrate on important projects and achieve high productivity.
  • When planning your personal work time, maintain balance. Productive work is impossible without quality sleep and rest. To easily focus on work, come up with creative ideas, we need to allocate enough time for sleep. During the night, the brain rejuvenates, and the subconscious continues to work even while we sleep.
  • For personal work planning, the “1-3-5” method is useful. It involves choosing 1 important task, 3 medium tasks, and 5 unimportant tasks for each day to avoid overload and focus on the most important ones.

Effective time management is an invaluable skill. In the face of uncertainty that has affected the entire country, its importance multiplies. But we believe that with small steps, you can improve this aspect of your work.
